Funded by a Creative Capital grant, the Redwood Preserve is researching new carbon mapping and monitoring techniques and economic models for properly valuing the environmental services provided by redwood forests.
Redwoods store 2,600 metric tons of carbon per hectare, more than double the absorption rate of any other forest in the world.
